Sustainable Design - New Native Woodland
We are working to offset some of our greenhouse gas production by helping the Woodland Trust with its Woodland Carbon Scheme. So far we have created 500m2 of new native woodland in the UK and this is enough to offset a minimum of 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide. This is part of our strategic programme to reduce emissions and is just the start of our efforts to minimise our environmental impact.
In addition, each project we complete with our clients rewards them with the gift of a tree, and each one receives a certificate to commemorate their contribution too.
Making a difference
Trees capture and store CO2, and this helps offset our carbon emissions. There are many offsetting schemes available, but through native UK tree planting we are aiming to improve the environment in which our colleagues and clients live, making a difference for generations to come.
There are many other benefits to planting trees from wildlife development, flood alleviation, wind protection as well as playing a vital role in helping us adapt to climate change.
